Passementaries is French for decorative trimmings, tassels, and ornaments. This is a lifestyle blog, offering affordable ideas with small stay-at-home journeys that can enhance your life. As an "older woman," Catie McIntyre explores the elegant trimmings of life. Joyeux Noël
In another life, there was a time when, on the day after Thanksgiving, I had my house decorated for the holidays, except for the Christmas tree. The tree would often arrive on the first Saturday of December. Now?
I no longer put up a large tree. Sometimes I put up a tabletop tree, and sometimes I don't, but I will sprinkle a bit of holiday joy around the house. Often more winter-themed decor that I can keep up throughout January, such as a collection of trees.
This year, I decided to put up a small tabletop tree with Paris-themed ornaments, so that by February, I can swap out the old vintage French Joyeux Noël postcards for a collection of old Valentines.
