About Me

Woman in Wine Country has changed its name back to its former blog name, Passementaries.

Greetings from my corner of the world.
A few years ago I retired my former blog, Wild Walla Walla Wine Woman. In 2005 it was one of the first wine blogs in the state, and I was one of the first woman wine bloggers in the Northwest.

While blogging, I also freelanced magazine articles for the Seattle Times/Walla Walla Union-Bulletin/Yakima Herald, and various food, wine, and lifestyle publications.

After missing the blogging platform and the ability to write in my own style without an editor overseeing my words, here I am.

Passementaries (/pæsˈmɛntri/)French pronunciation ([pɑsmɑ̃tʁi]) or Passementerie, is the art of making elaborate trimmings or ornaments.
From French, dating back to 1850–55.

Passementaries, a lifestyle blog, offers affordable ideas, trimmings, and ornaments, with small stay-at-home journeys that can enhance your life, especially thoughts from an "older" woman.  If you're interested in a few prized Julia Child recipes and how to cheat with a few quick cooking tips, welcome home! You will notice throughout my blog that I enjoy cooking, fluffing pillows, cooking, fussing with my rose bushes, cooking, and am the mature serf for two tiny four-legged terrier terrors.
